As it’s Valentines day I thought the best makeup look for the occasion should be based on the beautiful and sexy legend Marilyn Monroe.   If you are going out on a date, this is a perfect look. Although perhaps skip they addition of a beauty spot.

For the base – Marilyn is always flawless so apply a primer and foundation then set with a translucent powder.  As I have quite a bit of redness today I have used Bourjois CC cream.

Next with the blanc colour of my concealer pallet I have highlighted the nose, forehead, cheek bones, brow bones, chin and cupids bow.  Marilyn did this to create light in these areas which can lift or narrow them creating a are very flattering look.  Marilyn had quite dry skin so apparrently also applied Vaseline to highlight these areas.

Brows – Marilyn’s arch was quite pointy which liftet the face up and the darkess of her brows compared to her hair gave quite a dramatic look. I used HD Brow powder pallette – bombshell, very appropriate name for this look.

Eyeshadow – Marilyn’s lids were always very neutral to keep the appearance of a full lid and a draker colour was used just in the crease to contour.  Here I have used Urban Decay Naked 2 shade Bootycall for the lids and under the brow bone, thne Snakebite in the creases.

Eye Liner -The line above Marilyn’s lashes was not usually very precise as she used a pencil.  I used Helen E soft black eye pencil along the top  lash line but not going in to the inner corners as Marylin kept that bright with a pale pencil or shadow. The top lash lines slopped outwards instead of up.

Lashes – The volume  was concentratrated on the out lashes. here I have applied L’Oreal Voluminous x5 and added a few false cluster lashesto the outer corner.

Cheeks -I have  just applied to the top of the cheek bones Stila Adjusting Coral

Lips- now for what creates Marilyn’s signature look! Ensure your lips have foundation on them, this will help the lipstick last longer, then conceal around the edges to prevent bleed. Line your lips with liner taking them out slightly at the corner, I have also made my top llip look fuller.  I have used Maybelline Pleasure Me and filled them in with Kate Moss Rimmel.

Voila the final look! Obviously I will never look like Marilyn without lots of cosmetic surgery but the the lips, eye brows and flicked lashes are all  there.
